Extended membership to more than 120 businesses in the Industrial Park
Current membership is 40 businesses
Established a website (www.bpind.org) with Mission Statement, Current & Past Events, Meeting minutes, History of the park, Business of the Month, Map and Directory, more
Elected officers
Hold Monthly meetings \u2013 many with speakers including Economic Development South; West Penn Power Co.: Business Law Legal team \u2013Jackson\/Lewis: Health care professionals: Elected public officials \u2013 mayor, police chief, Bethel Park council and more: EMS speakers including St. Clair Hospital rep.
Established a welcoming relationship with BP council and officials
Delivered business contact info for each address in the park to police, fire and ems & updated in 2019
Held numerous paper shredding events and electronics recycling events
Resolved electric outage issues within the park with local power company
Meeting with zoning and council to begin a park overlay \u2013 changing codes
Formed a relationship with Economic Development South (Greg Jones) to help with zoning changes and other helpful ideas for park improvement
Established a representative from the Industrial Park to the BP Chamber of Commerce
Presented a letter to BP regarding the negativity and inefficiency of the bldg. inspection department. Changes were made.
Through a grant generated by the borough, park roads were paved
Provided discounts for garbage hauling
Provided and installed 2 security cameras to help police capture criminals in the park \u2013 cameras have already helped solve several crimes
Provided names of park businesses for snow blowing, grass cutting, plumbing valve testing, etc.
Linked people looking to rent space with possible landlords in the park
Created \u201cPark Perks\u201d \u2013 discounts from park businesses to park employees
Provided approximately 5 hours of free legal advice regarding hiring, firing, benefits, company manuals and overtime pay changes
Several CPR training sessions – provided by TriCommunity South
Commendation letter to acknowledge their excellent service and our support was sent to the BP Police dept, fire dept and EMS on behalf of park businesses
Participated in National Clean Up Day \u2013 volunteers walked the park & filled bags and bags of debris
Donated a $500 window for BP Historical Society\u2019s Park Ave. school house renovation
Requested the borough to paint lines on the \u201ccurvy\u201d roads in the park; work done by PLP
Requested Zoning changes including parking, signage, lighting, tree planting (free trees)
Provided a park wide water study with the borough to understand water runoff
Donated bricks engraved with BP Business Assn. for Park Ave. School House driveway
Requested earlier mail delivery from the BP Post Office to park businesses
Participated in a Job Fair with the Bethel Park Chamber of Commerce
